It’s a Swimming Celebration!
Swimming is fun for every age, but did you know that according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 10 people drown every day in the United States? And that drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children under the age of 14?
Mark your calendars for International Learn to Swim Day– a day dedicated to raising awareness about water safety and the importance of teaching all children to swim!
SwimWays started National Learn to Swim Day in 2012 as part of water safety month to help raise awareness about the importance of learning to swim to help prevent childhood drowning. Since 2016 SwimWays and the USA Swimming Foundation, (an organization whose mission it is to save lives and build champions, in the pool and in life), have joined forces for National Learn to Swim Day.
This year, we excited to announce that while we are continuing our partnership with USA Swimming Foundation, we are also expanding internationally for the first annual International Learn to Swim Day! With the help of our parent company, Spin Master, we will be hosting Learn to Swim Day events around the world with appearances made by characters from Paw Patrol!
