National Learn to Swim Day Goes Global

Save the date for International Learn to Swim Day! It’s the 3rd Saturday of every May!

SwimWays started National Learn to Swim Day in 2012 as part of water safety month to help raise awareness about the importance of learning to swim to help prevent childhood drowning*.

This year,  we excited to announce that while we are continuing our partnership with USA Swimming Foundation, we are also expanding internationally for the first annual International Learn to Swim Day! With the help of our parent company, Spin Master, we will be hosting Learn to Swim Day events around the world with appearances made by characters from Paw Patrol!

Learn more about how you can get involved by going to the International Learn to Swim Day page on the Teach Me to Swim website. There, you can also find tips on how to host your own Learn to Swim Day event.

*Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1-4? Help turn this tragedy around by teaching your kids to swim and practicing water safety with your family.
